No. 1 Lavender Fields is a home (with nursing care) providing a range of services for young people with physical disabilities aged between 16 and 24.
The home is a comfortable modern building situated a few minutes walk from the market town of Hitchin. The home has wonderful views of the local countryside.
Hitchin is rich in both history and architecture. It maintains its market town traditions while at the same time having larger chain stores. Hitchin has a historic open market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. St. Mary’s Church is also a feature, dating back to the 13th century.
Hitchin was a staging post for London bound coaches in the 19th century and many of the inns from that time can still be seen in the narrow cobbled streets today.
Our residents ensure their home has a lively and friendly atmosphere. At their request, we offer a wide range of daily activities from arts, crafts and games to quizzes and gardening. We also hold events in the home such as discos, fêtes and fundraisers.
Our fully-trained staff are committed to ensuring that everybody is happy in their home. We pride ourselves on putting our residents first, supporting everybody to be independent and to take part in community activities as they wish.
