Respite care

When looking after someone else, it's important to take time to look after yourself. Taking a break from caring stops you from becoming exhausted. It also provides a continuation of effective support for the person you care for.

What is respite care?

Respite care services give carers a break from caring. There are different types of respite care and we support many people with varying needs. Respite care we provide includes:

  • Longer-term placements at our nursing and residential services.
  • Stays in services with current vacancies.
  • Day centres that give people the chance to enjoy a day out, try a new activity or spend quality time with others.
