Acquired brain injuries (ABI)
Brain damage can cause a wide range of problems. The timing and quality of rehabilitation is very important for a successful outcome.
Our ABI services provide specialist rehabilitation for people with brain injuries. We provide the required support for people to regain their full potential for independence, choice and opportunity.
We are one of the UK’s leading providers in this sector. Find out more about our dedicated ABI service, Oakwood in Stockport.
Range of services
We aim to provide a complete range of services, from post-hospital rehabilitation to long-term supported living in the community.
We operate two purpose-built units for people who are ready to leave hospital but still require specialist rehabilitation. With nursing support available as an option, our services are specifically designed to support people with physical impairments as well as cognitive and behavioural impairments.
Within our specialist rehabilitation service we also offer the option of semi-independent flats as a stepping-stone to independent living, with access to specialist support as required.
Long term support
With access to a national network of over 200 care homes, supported living, day support and home care services, we are able to develop custom packages of support and accommodation.
Specialist advice and support remains available from our national ABI team throughout a person’s stay.
