Response to the additional Access for All funding

Our response to today’s announcement on the additional Access for All funding.

‘We are encouraged by the funding announced today, but more is needed and must be implemented quickly and effectively, so that public transport is finally fair and inclusive for all.’

Neil Heslop

In response to today’s announcement on the additional Access for All funding, our chief executive Neil Heslop said:

‘Disabled people deserve, and will welcome, the improvements announced today but even with the additional funding, inaccessible public transport will continue to force many to miss out on every day events which others take for granted, from employment opportunities to simply spending time with family and friends.

‘Our own research last year revealed many disabled people cannot use over 40% of Great Britain’s train stations, due to limited step free access.

‘We are encouraged by the funding announced today, but more is needed and must be implemented quickly and effectively, so that public transport is finally fair and inclusive for all.’
