Report on the online abuse of disabled people

There needs to be a swift response to this persistent blight on the lives of disabled people.

In response to the government’s petitions committee report on the online abuse of disabled people, our CEO Neil Heslop said:

‘Katie Price’s campaigning has brought a welcome focus on the devastating impact of online hate crime.

‘There needs to be a swift response to this persistent blight on the lives of disabled people.

‘For many, going online is a vital and valued part of life.

‘Our charity runs a successful scheme in Northern Ireland with the Police to support hate crime survivors and we would hope to see programmes like ours expanded across the UK.

‘We look forward to hearing from the government on how they plan to tackle online disability hate crime.’
