A warm welcome to Fryers House
We provide support and nursing care for physically disabled adults in a friendly and safe home. Our team offers support for complex needs, such as brain injury, and is fully trained. We’re also regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
You’ll find us in the beautiful market town of Romsey, just a short drive from the attractions of Southampton and Winchester. With plenty of green space and a local high street offering a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, our residents will tell you that one of the best things about living in Fryers House is its great location.
Facilities for you
Fryers House is spread across two facing buildings, a house and bungalow. Being spaced across two sites means we can offer you the choice of which one you would like to live in, if there are vacancies in both places.
You can also enjoy the bright and comfortable lounge and dining area, which has recently been refurbished. There’s always room for you to welcome your family and friends or get together with other residents.
- 24 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and accessible facilities
- well-maintained gardens, including a herb garden and pond
- newly refurbished, spacious lounge and dining room with natural light
We make sure mealtimes can be enjoyed by everyone. Our menus are planned by our residents and staff — tell us about your favourite dish!
The home offers a range of activities for residents, including arts and crafts, quizzes and cake baking. We also hold events in the home such as summer barbeques, coffee mornings and bring-and-buy sales. You’ll have the chance to be social, get creative or enjoy exercise – you choose. We encourage people to take part but there’s no pressure.
Group activities aren’t for everyone and you might just want to do things on your own. If so, we can help. If you need support, one option is to find a volunteer to come along with you.
Whatever activities you’d like to do, you can always talk to one of our team about the difference choices available to you.
‘My name’s Tina and I’ve lived at Fryers house for just over two years. The team are really helpful. I get on well with them and they’re always around when you need them, or just for a chat.
‘Before I came here I was living on my own in a flat. I was finding it really difficult; now that I’m here I feel much more independent. All the care I need is right here, so I’ve got a lot more time to go out and have fun.
‘There are loads of opportunities to go on trips — recently we’ve been to the beach, the zoo, the theatre. So many different things that I would never have done had I stayed in my flat. It’s really changed my life.’
