A warm welcome to Bells Piece
We provide support for adults with learning disabilities in a friendly and safe home. Our team is fully trained and we’re regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
You’ll find us in the outskirts of Farnham, on the borders of Surrey and Hampshire. Situated approximately a mile away from Farnham, our home is surrounded by extensive gardens that lead into Farnham Park.
As well as offering a variety of shops and restaurants, Farnham is known for its historical places of interest such as Farnham Castle, Frensham Common, and Jane Austen’s house. With Farnham railway station nearby, we also enjoy direct transport links into Central London.
Facilities for you
Bells Piece is a detached house that can accommodate up to thirteen adults with learning disabilities.
Our facilities include:
- 13 spacious bed rooms
- computers with internet access
- an activities room
- a riverside room
- a beautifully well-maintained garden
We make sure mealtimes can be enjoyed by everyone. Our menus are planned by our residents and staff, and special diets are always catered for by our chef.
The home offers a range of activities for residents, including gardening, arts and crafts, literacy lessons, IT classes, healthy eating programmes, and games. We also organise regular outings to local places of interest such as the zoo, the theatre, the cinema, garden centres, bowling alleys, museums and sporting events. You’ll have the chance to be social, get creative or enjoy exercise – you choose.
Group activities aren’t for everyone and you might just want to do things on your own. If so, we can help. If you need support, one option is to find a volunteer to come along with you.
Whatever activities you’d like to do, you can always talk to one of our team about the different choices available to you.
'My name’s Panay and I’ve lived in a Leonard Cheshire home for several years now. I’m originally from Greece but I moved to the UK when I was young. I’m very happy living here. The staff are really kind and helpful.
'I’ve lived in quite a few other homes and I much prefer it here, as there are so many things to do. We go out a lot — to the theatre, shopping, playing bingo.
'It’s been really nice to develop some interests and be able to choose what I want to do. I love to cook, especially Greek food — my favourite is Moussaka. If I want to cook something the staff will help me to get the ingredients and support me to use the kitchen.
'I’ve also just opened a shop — ‘Panay’s Pampering Market’! I’m selling toiletries to the other residents. It’s great fun.'
