What facilities are available

Firgrove is set in beautiful grounds. It has plenty of facilities including: full internet access, a sensory room, excellent cooking facilities, and plenty of space for indoor and outdoor activities.

There are shared bathrooms for most tenants, while some tenants do have their own bathroom.

Who we support

At Firgrove we deliver person-centred care for disabled adults so people can live life as they choose.

People living at Firgrove have various learning disabilities including Down’s Syndrome and other conditions. We also support people with autism and physical conditions such as cerebral palsy. We assist people to manage dietary conditions.

The current building at Firgrove does not have full wheelchair access (the service users are all ambulant) but it does meet the needs and preferences of everyone living here.

We have excellent transport links, and the tenants make good use of the public transport, taxis, buses, and trains. We also have a seven-seater vehicle, which helps everyone travel to activities, health appointments etc. We are close to the centre of Farnham and there are direct trains to London Waterloo, running every hour.

What support we provide

At Firgrove, our dedicated staff help everyone to be independent as possible in all aspects of their daily life.

People living at the service are encouraged to direct and agree times for the support they require this includes personal care, activities, trips, health appointments etc. Some tenants can manage their medication, and this is supported by appropriate reminders from staff.

We provide high-quality communication support. Individual communication passports and simple Makaton are used when required, and everyone has a communication support plan.

The tenants play an active part in all the daily tasks that keep the service running:  they get involved in cleaning, decoration choices, weekly menu planning and cooking meals.

What activities are available

We help people identify and take part in activities that they love doing. They are supported to access other groups and day services as required.

We provide a good range of activities at the service too. These include baking, gardening, arts and crafts, relaxing in the beautiful grounds, garden games, keep fit sessions and drama sessions. People enjoy regular trips out. They make the most of the local community by going to clubs, pubs, theatres, cafés, shops, cinemas and restaurants.
