Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a scheme whereby for every £1 you give to Leonard Cheshire Disability, we can claim an extra 25p from the Inland Revenue — with no extra cost to you.

This means if you make a donation of £10, it will actually be worth £12.50 to Leonard Cheshire Disability, without costing you anything more than £10.

How do you claim my Gift Aid?

If you pay income or capital gains tax in the UK then you can Gift Aid your donation to us. This allows us to reclaim the tax element of your donation from the government. (You must have paid at least the same amount in tax as we can reclaim.)

You can tick the Gift Aid box on your donations if you pay income tax on any of the following:

  • the money that you earn
  • the savings that you have
  • the benefits or pension that you receive

Simply complete the form below to tell us that you want us to claim Gift Aid on your donations. (Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.)

Not eligible?

It's equally important to tell us if we should not claim Gift Aid on your donations. Please fill in our alternative form to tell us not to claim Gift Aid on your donations.

To qualify for Gift Aid you must be a UK taxpayer and what you pay in income tax or capital gains must at least equal the amount that Leonard Cheshire Disability and all the charities or community amateur sports clubs that you donate to will reclaim on your charitable donations in a tax year (6 April one year to 5 April next year), currently 25p for every £1 you donate. Other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify. Please let us know if your circumstances change.
