Social care

Social care is chronically underfunded and affects thousands of disabled people across the UK.

Good care transforms disabled people’s lives. Across the UK, disabled people have told us they are struggling to get the social care they need.

At the moment social care is being chronically underfunded.

One result of the lack of funding is the use of 15 minute personal care visits. These visits are undignified and people are being left facing impossible choices, like choosing between eating and showering.

It is unacceptable that disabled people are forced to choose between two fundamental human needs.

Pledge to fix the social care crisis

Our politicians must pledge to fix the social care crisis now.

‘The people making these decisions about care, and the cost of care, have no idea how disability and mental illness affects a person's day-to-day life.’
