Reimagining the workplace: disability and inclusive employment

Disabled people face challenges at many different stages in the workplace, from recruitment to promotion.

But it shouldn’t be this way. Our Untapped Talent campaign is calling for innovative and ambitious thinking to break down the barriers stopping disabled people reach full potential.

Our new research finds that in the UK, 73% of disabled adults stopped working due to a disability or health condition.

For some disabled people, sometimes working is not an option. When this happens it’s important the government provides a safety net we can rely on.

But often, people want to continue working and feel forced out of the workplace.

Whether it is an employer offering flexible working, or the government expanding ‘Access to Work’ funding, small adjustments can make a big difference in enabling disabled people to progress in their careers.

Improved awareness of the rights that disabled people have in the workplace – and the ability to assert these rights with confidence – is vital.

With your support we will keep fighting to build fair and inclusive workplaces.
