Response to the lack of diversity in the media

Our Director of Media, Marketing and Communications responds to OFCOM's latest figures which show disabled people are under-represented in media workforces.

A diverse media workforce is particularly important to reflect modern Britain and swift progress must be made to redress the balance.

Our Director Media, Marketing and Communications Ross Macfadyen said:

‘The figures released by OFCOM reveal a depressing lack of progress in an industry that should know better.

‘A diverse media workforce is particularly important to reflect modern Britain and swift progress must be made to redress the balance.

‘Leonard Cheshire placed disabled interns with five media companies including the BBC in the latest round of our Change 100 programme so we know there is an appetite for change.’
