Framework to help businesses support disabled staff

Our Head of Policy and Public Affairs reacts to the government's voluntary framework to help businesses support disabled staff.

In response to the government publishing a voluntary framework to help businesses support disabled staff, our Head of Policy and Public Affairs Husna Mortuza said:

‘The commitment to data gathering on disability is a significant step forward.

‘It's only when all companies collect accurate information that they are able to truly understand the issue and make the necessary adjustments.

‘We know too many talented disabled people who are not getting the chances they deserve in the workplace.

‘Our own research showed that one in five employers have reservations about employing disabled people and these attitudes persist.

‘There's a need for greater understanding to break down the barriers that disabled people continue to face in the world of work.’
