A warm welcome to Greenhill House
We provide support and nursing care for physically disabled adults in a friendly and safe home. Our team is fully trained and we’re regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
You’ll find us in the peaceful village of Timsbury, in Somerset. Set in extensive grounds, our home is close to a range of local amenities including a community hall, chemist, newsagents, hairdressers and various pubs.
We are a short distance from Bath, which is famous for its architecture, museums, and Roman baths. We’re also not far from Bristol, which has a wide range of activities and attractions.
Facilities for you
Greenhill House is a two storey home with 37 bedrooms. There’s always room for you to welcome your family and friends or get together with other residents.
Our facilities include:
- 37 bedrooms
- TV area
- licensed bar
- conservatory lounge with patio access
- physiotherapy room
- well-maintained garden
We make sure mealtimes can be enjoyed by everyone. Our menus are planned by our residents and staff, and special diets are always catered for by our chef.
We also organise regular trips including to the theatre, the cinema, bowling, museums and sports events. You’ll have the chance to be social, get creative or enjoy exercise – you choose.
Group activities aren’t for everyone and you might just want to do things on your own. If so, we can help. Whatever activities you’d like to do, you can always talk to one of our team about the different choices available to you.
Boccia at Greenhill House
Greenhill is home to the Boccia England Registered Club. Boccia is a Paralympic sport similar to boules, developed specifically for disabled people to play. Our team plays in several leagues and competitions. It’s a great opportunity to learn the sport and do some exercise.
‘My name’s Bam and I’ve lived here for a couple of years. I do miss my family, living here, but the care is all good here. The staff are really friendly.
‘There’s also plenty to do — I like scrabble, and I like playing chess as well. I play downstairs with anyone who wants to play. I’m also a DJ, and I have two different decks here. And I have my PlayStation 2.
‘I have graffiti walls in my room. The staff were really supportive about that.I did the design on a canvas and my friend did it on the wall.
‘Before coming here I was living in squats, and got into drugs a bit. It’s better for me living here; I feel much better not doing that kind of stuff any more.’
