The recently published CQC report gave fulsome praise for the team at Quantock House, which is managed by disability charity Leonard Cheshire. Inspectors found that “staff consistently treated people with exceptional kindness, dignity and respect.”

The regulator said Quantock House – a small residential home on Quantock Road – provides “highly personalised support” for adults with learning disabilities and physical conditions.

The report said staff “promoted wellbeing, dignity and a strong sense of belonging. People felt valued, safe and supported” and they “spoke positively about the care and support they received.”

One relative told inspectors that staff were “dedicated, patient and always going the extra mile.”

An external professional said Quantock House provides “care that is person centred and brings happiness to people. People’s input is sought all the time and independence is maximised, no matter how big or small the goal.”

Inspectors also praised a “positive and inclusive management team” that promoted “continuous learning and improvement.” Their “innovative approaches helped people achieve greater independence, confidence and inclusion within their local community.”

Aliya Granger, service manager at Quantock House, said:

We are incredibly proud to have retained our Good rating. At Quantock House, the people we support are at the heart of everything we do. This recognition reflects our team's commitment to delivering truly person-centred care that promotes choice, independence, and wellbeing. It is an amazing achievement for everyone involved
