Time commitment

We’d ideally like someone to volunteers with us on Fridays, but we can be flexible if necessary.

Role description

We need friendly, patient people with a basic knowledge of IT to support disabled people to access the digital world. You will make a difference by coaching people on how to use email their friends and family, stream videos and music, and develop their tablet skills. When supporting the people who live at Ty Cwm, lots of repetition will be required for instructions.

You don’t need to be an IT expert, the most important qualities our volunteers need are patience and an ability to explain things people may be unfamiliar with. Experience supporting with disabled people is desirable.

Opportunity highlights

You will gain experience training people to use IT, as well as learning about the developing field of assistive technology. And if you volunteer with us, you have the satisfaction that you have used your IT skills to support a disabled person keep in touch with loved ones, apply for a job and pursue their interests. Ongoing training and support will be provided along with expenses, as it’s important to us that our volunteers are not out of pocket because of volunteering with us.
