Response to expected Charity Bill fundraising proposals
12 July 2015
In response to the proposals relating to fundraising practices expected in the Charity Bill this week, Leonard Cheshire Disability commented:
'We welcome any new legalisation that will help reassure the thousands of donors across the country that generously support our work.
'At Leonard Cheshire Disability, we insist on the highest possible standards in our fundraising activity. This is why we have recently reviewed our "Fundraising Promise" and are satisfied that we never cold call potential donors; we never sell or share our donors’ data with anyone else; and we will not take part in street fundraising or "chugging".
'We look forward to studying the details of the proposed legislation. And over the coming weeks and months we will be actively working with the government and the Charity Commission to ensure we maintain our high standards.'
