Response to doubling of Blue Badge thefts
22 August 2015
Responding to reports that thefts of Blue Badges have doubled in a year, Leonard Cheshire Disability's campaigns director, Andy Cole, said:
'Blue badges are a lifeline for millions of disabled people to ensure that they can maintain their independence.
'Disabled people need more access to a wide range of accessible transport, whether on buses, trains or with accessible parking.
'It is shocking that some people steal or feel that it is acceptable to misuse the badges, and we welcome the increased focus on identifying and prosecuting those involved.'
