Disabled resident from Wrexham home to celebrate patron’s birthday on the mall

Janet and Hayley smiling outside DolywernA disabled resident at a Llangollen care home will be among the special guests to attend Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations on the Mall with the charity Leonard Cheshire Disability.

Hayley Williams has cerebral palsy and has lived at the Dolywern care home since 2004.

She is thrilled to be taking part in the ‘Patron’s Lunch’ on Sunday 12 June.

Hayley said:

‘I am very excited about the party.’

A dedicated and caring staff member, Janet Eastwood, will also be attending the celebrations.

Janet has worked at Dolywern for 11 years and loves working in the home and with the residents, she describes it as ‘one big family’.

Janet said:

‘It’s a privilege to attend.’

Hayley and Janet will be among 12 of the charity’s residents, supporters and dedicated staff to attend the spectacular event to celebrate The Queen’s patronage of hundreds of charities and organisations on her birthday.

The Mall outside Buckingham Palace will be transformed into a giant street party, with a hamper lunch and parade entertainment for guests. The lunch will be attended by 10,000 people from 600 organisations of which The Queen is patron.

The Queen has played an influential role in Leonard Cheshire Disability, since becoming the charity’s patron in 1980.
