With two friends, Steve's Metro60 challenge set off from Newcastle Airport at 6am on Tuesday and ended at St James station at 10pm.

They dealt with hail and snow to complete the challenge of getting on and off at every Metro station.

Steve — who calls himself Wheelchair Steve — raised £3,000 for 11 different disability and children's charities. He said fish and chips at South Shields helped him get through the day!

Steve is the founder of International Wheelchair Day.
