Trustee to take on second cycling challenge!
22 July 2015
Last October, one of our trustees, Paul Baker, took on an amazing 12-day cycling challenge through Vietnam and Cambodia and raised over £3,000 for Leonard Cheshire Disability. Paul did such a great job that he has decided to challenge himself once again! In November, Paul and his daughter, Katie, will be cycling 460 kilometres through Central America. Paul will be keeping us updated with his progress each month, so keep an eye out!
The bike has been dusted off and training has begun!
Well after last year you might have thought I would give up, but we did so well raising over £3000 for Leonard Cheshire Disability that I am going to do it again! So I am just dusting the bike off and getting myself ready to start training again. This time we're cycling across Central America; starting in Panama, then into Costa Rica and ending up in Nicaragua. Lots of hills this time around and the ride is classified as ‘tough’, which, I hasten to say, I am not! So some serious work to do. I will keep you posted on my progress.
Since last time I have lost an eye following some recent surgery, so balance and seeing where I am going will be fun! I will get back to you in a month with an update, but if there is any way you can help with fundraising, or if I can help raise the profile of anything you are doing locally, then let me know.
