Reasons we run — Andrew and Alan

13 April 2017

Short series featuring some of the amazing people running this year's London Marathon for our charity.

Andrew Crosby

Andrew CrosbyAndrew is hoping to raise awareness about the barriers to employment disabled people face!

He regularly supports fundraising day at his local service, Green Gables!

‘I like helping people, it is part of who I am and I wanted to support people in my community.

‘Fundraising for Leonard Cheshire will help disabled people find and remain in employment, build their confidence through information, advice and guidance, and to break down barriers they face through access to computers and adapted IT equipment.’

Andrew is looking to raise £2,000. You can support him through his JustGiving page.

Alan Newell

Alan was inspired by his disabled granddaughter and grandson — who have loved getting involved with his fundraising efforts!

‘My motivation for running for a disability charity is that both my grandchildren are disabled and it is charities like Leonard Cheshire which help disabled people.

‘Last month I got my grandkids to do a sponsored walk with me. They dressed as superheroes and we started at our local park and then went around the Great Orme.’

You can support Alan through his JustGiving page.
