Our top 5 tips for a Super Supper

Young people eating a meal and chattingby Klara Wertheim

I love having a group of friends over for dinner, but — like most people — I don’t get round to it often enough.

So the thought of getting together with friends and cooking a special meal was instantly appealing when we came up with a new fundraising idea — Super Suppers!

1. Invitations

The guest list is really important! Most of us don’t have space to host 15 people for a meal, so pick a small group who will get on well.

2. Your menu

Think about what you’re best at, and what will be easy to manage for the number of guests. (You don’t want to spend the whole evening in the kitchen.)

If you’re no Michael Caines, why not do wine and canapes, or something that isn’t too fiddly?

Remember to write a shopping list and check your quantities!

3. The big day

Remind your guests a few days before by texting to say how much you’re looking forward to seeing them.

Give yourself plenty of time to prepare, and do as much as you can before the guests arrive.

Remember to decorate your table with the table decorations from your free Super Suppers pack!

4. Raising money on the night

The free Super Suppers pack we send you contains donation envelopes you can put in each place setting.

Or you could create a JustGiving page or JustTextGiving code if you want your guests to donate before the meal.

Lastly — enjoy it! If things don’t go to plan, nobody will mind — it’s all for charity.
