James Elgar is heading to the IRONMAN World Championships!
24 September 2014
Best of luck and congratulations to James Elgar for qualifying for the IRONMAN world championships in Hawaii on 11 October 2014!
IRONMAN is a long distance triathlon of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile cycle and a 26.2-mile run, all completed consecutively. James qualified for the Hawaiian championships as he came an amazing sixth in his age group in IRONMAN in the UK.
James is fundraising specifically for Danybryn in Cardiff as his godfather Ian Wilding was a resident there until he passed away last year.
‘He was a close friend of my Dad and we used to go on holiday together as families. Ian was a bubbly character and was always known to crack a joke.’
While he’s in Hawaii James is also taking part in the 17th Underpants Run!
If you’d like to sponsor James for his challenges please visit his online fundraising page.
