Hospital Saturday Fund donation for new sensory rooms in Scotland

We're proud to be among 27 charities in Scotland who received donations from the Hospital Saturday Fund at a special reception hosted in Glasgow City Chambers. In total, £100,000 was donated to the charities at the event, which was hosted by Bailie James Scanlon on behalf of the Rt Hon Lord Provost of Glasgow, Councillor Sadie Docherty.

The donations were presented by soprano Lesley Garrett.

Paul Jackson, Chief Executive of the Hospital Saturday Fund, said: ‘We are delighted to continue the tradition of supporting many charities in Scotland, many of which are less well known. The Hospital Saturday Fund is honoured to support the efforts of such deserving charities and help in some way towards the exceptional, tireless work that they do.’

Leonard Cheshire's Chief Executive Clare Pelham said: ‘Thanks to our generous donors, the Hospital Saturday Fund, disabled people in Scotland will be able to benefit from wonderful sensory rooms. They will be full of amazing light features and soft materials and they will provide essential relaxation and the opportunity for disabled people in Fife to develop skills in safe surroundings.’
