Health watchdog NICE publishes guidelines to end 15-minute care visits

5 March 2015

Today the NHS watchdog published draft rules strongly supporting our call to end 15-minute care visits.

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) says these visits should only be considered in certain very specific cases, such as checking if someone has taken their medication. This is another major success for our Make Care Fair campaign to end 15-minute visits for good!

‘Action to end the scandal of flying care visits for disabled and older people is long overdue. We are delighted NICE has been so clear that this must stop.’ — Clare Pelham, Chief Executive of Leonard Cheshire Disability

Over the next few months we will need your help to tell NICE to make their draft rules permanent — so watch this space.

Thanks for all your support. This is what we can achieve together — real change!
