Getting into the Christmas spirit

8 December 2016

Residents from John Masefield House in Abingdon started their Christmas celebrations a little early this year, as Santa paid their Christmas bazaar a visit on 26 November!

Santa was joined by a helper in the form of Henley MP John Howell, who handed out presents to the residents before joining the rest of the bazaar-goers.

‘We have such nice people who volunteer to make things good for us. They are so kind and giving and we all appreciate everything they do.’ — Carole Osborne, resident

With the help of stalls and activities, including crafts, lucky dip, raffle and a tombola, the event raised an amazing £1,000 for the service!

The money will be going towards a new patio area — which will be completed in time for summer 2017!

‘It was lovely to see so many people at the bazaar and learn that everyone enjoyed the afternoon’s festivities.’ — David Williams, volunteer coordinator
