Final preparations for trustee's cycle ride

23 September 2014

One of our trustees, Paul Baker, is taking on an amazing 12-day cycling challenge this October to raise money for Leonard Cheshire Disability. The challenge will take Paul and his daughter from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam through the rice paddies and waterways of the beautiful Mekong Delta and into Cambodia.

Paul has been keeping us updated with his progress leading up to the big challenge — read his posts from April, June and July.

Best of luck Paul!

September 2014 - Just over a week to go

Final preparations completing and am as ready as I will ever be — probably not as well practised as I should be but I think just enough. I have had all my injections and now just on my way to get my malaria treatments. Main worry I think is the horrible mosquitoes and so I need to get some sprays and apparently you can get bands to wear that put them off — send them on to the next person!

On the fundraising front I am up to just short of £3,500. I managed to get the MG Car Club to donate £200 which was half the raffle takings at a meeting I was at last weekend so that was good.

People have been so supportive making it all worthwhile, and let's face it I will definitely have fun and meet lots of new people.

Cannot wait now!
