Christmas Day at Leonard Cheshire Disability

24 December 2015

We'd like to thank all our dedicated staff who are working this Christmas Day to support disabled people at our services across the UK and around the world.

Our staff go well above the call of duty to make the day enjoyable and fun-filled, whether in our residential services or supporting disabled people in their homes.

Staff and residents at Godfrey Robinson House gathered around the Christmas treeAt Godfrey Robinson House in Yorkshire, the day starts with a celebration breakfast with everyone opening their presents.

The fun continues with the traditional Christmas lunch and games and a buffet party in the evening.

‘Our staff work throughout December to get everything ready for the big day to ensure it is special for everyone we support and a day to remember.’ — Christine Jimoh, service manager

Similar activities are going on at our other services throughout the country.

‘Christmas Day is a special day that most of us spend with those closest to us.

‘So I would just ask everyone to remember our inspirational staff teams, who put so much hard work and preparation into supporting everyone in the services to enjoy the festive season, including often putting their own family celebrations on hold to work around their shift patterns.

‘They really all are true Christmas stars.’ — Rosemarie Pardington, director of services
