Heatherley

A warm welcome to Heatherley

We provide support and nursing care for physically disabled adults in a friendly and safe environment. Our team is fully trained and we’re regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

Heatherley residents in the countryside

You’ll find us in over 17 acres of beautiful countryside in Copthorne, West Sussex. We are only a short distance from Crawley, which has a range of local amenities including shops, a library and leisure centre. There is also a restaurant within walking distance, and the National Trust gardens at Wakehurst Place are nearby.

Enjoy activities

Heatherley resident shoppingThe home offers a range of activities for residents, including cookery, woodwork and arts and crafts. We also organise activities outside the home — in the past these have included visits to Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and the Bluebell Railway.

You’ll have the chance to be social, get creative or enjoy exercise — you choose. We encourage people to take part but there’s no pressure.

Group activities aren’t for everyone and you might just want to do things on your own. If so, we can help. If you need support, one option is to find a volunteer to come along with you.

Whatever activities you’d like to do, you can always talk to one of our team about the different choices available to you.

Mandy’s story

Mandy, a resident at Heatherley‘My name’s Mandy and Heatherley has been my home for 18 years.

‘I love it here, it has a fantastic atmosphere. You get looked after properly and the staff are so kind. The food is great too — we have a really good chef.

‘I do lots of exercise — I use the physio room 3 times a week.

‘The staff in the physio room are just lovely, and support me to work really hard. I feel great and I’ve lost loads of weight since I came here.’
