We currently have two projects in Uganda which support disabled people into work.
Our project in Adjumani supports disabled women to access skills training and work opportunities.
Following work we've already completed in the area, we noticed young disabled women were at an increased disadvantage when it came to accessing support.
To fill this gap, we're currently working to provide training (both basic and more industry specific) and career guidance to support disabled women to access employment.
Our work in Kampala focuses around increasing the access to paid employment for disabled people.
Although there are limited waged employment options for all in Uganda, waged employment is increasing for the overall population however disabled people are being left behind in this momentum.
Alongside a mentoring scheme, we're working to create an effective online platform to bring together jobseekers and employment opportunities.
