Young Voices: empowering young people with disabilities to speak out for their rights

Young Voices are just such powerful representatives. There is nothing stronger for a minister or politician than a well prepared and articulate young disabled person. — Young Voices Regional Coordinator

Young Voices is a global network of young people with disabilities from over 20 countries. They campaign for the rights of people with disabilities worldwide using creative methods including films and music.

Through their campaigns, Young Voices persuade governments to change laws, introduce new policies and sign and ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). They transform attitudes towards disability among communities. They convince schools, businesses, politicians and many others to give people with disabilities the opportunities they deserve.

The Young Voices project was funded by the European Union from January 2011 to December 2013. Many Young Voices groups still remain active — you can find out about their activities on the Young Voices website.
