Gift in will: adapted minibus

Wheelchair user boarding the accessible minibus at No. 1 Lavender FieldsEnriching the lives of our young residents at Lavender Fields, our care home in Hertfordshire, is really important. Providing ways for them to go out in comfort and safety is one way we do this. So when a kind supporter left a gift to Leonard Cheshire Disability in his will, we used it to buy a new specially adapted minibus.

Residents are now enjoying a greater sense of freedom using the minibus for everything from day trips to concerts, getting to the local night club, to going on holiday.

‘The minibus is really good because we can go out in a group to somewhere fun together. Three of us went to the O2 to see Maroon 5 recently — we had a great night out!’ — Jack, resident
