Leaving a lasting legacy

Every member of the Leonard Cheshire family upholds our founder’s belief in a better, fairer world. And in the work we do, we’re all continuing his legacy. Last year, many of our supporters left their own legacy: by leaving us a gift in their will.

More independence, more confidence — and more joy

Mr Edward Redrupp left a gift to Eithinog, his local Leonard Cheshire residential care home in Colwyn Bay. This gift has funded a new service, which helps disabled people live more independently.

Eight people can live in this new service, a separate wing to the main building. Residents can learn new skills, such as cooking, and do more to look after themselves.

They are also making more decisions about what they do day to day.

‘Each person has their own needs.

‘The thing they have in common is that they all want more control over their lives.’ — Clare Sherliker, service manager

Edward’s gift means a huge amount to the people at Eithinog. They’ll never forget him or his generosity.
