Change100: Working together

Sophie, change100 intern

We organised paid summer internships for talented disabled students through our Change100 programme.

Students worked in organisations including Barclays, the BBC, the Department of Health and SAB Miller. The programme also helped employers understand how much disabled students have to offer.

‘I am so grateful to the Change100 scheme… it has been life changing!

‘I now have a graduate role at Barclays and I was so excited to start my job.

‘I could not have achieved this without the help of Leonard Cheshire Disability.’ — Sophie Stowell, intern

Can Do: Skills, support, and more self-esteem

Our Can Do programme helps disabled people aged between 10 and 35 into volunteering. It has been generously funded by our corporate partner, Howden’s Joinery.

Thanks to continued support from Howdens and funding from the Cabinet Office, The Pears Foundation, the Big Lottery Fund England and Big Lottery Fund Wales, we expanded Can Do to 19 UK locations. We’re extremely grateful for our funders’ support.
