The GoIT! project works to increase the access residents and people who use our Cheshire House Inverness service have to a vast array of different technologies.
This technology includes everyday equipment, such as iPhones, Kindles, computers, digital cameras and more specialised equipment like Eyegaze.
Volunteers within the project help with activities. This can include contacting family members using Skype, catching up with old friends on Facebook, shopping online for their groceries, tracing family history on ancestry sites, watching their favourite videos on YouTube or even helping to create a scrapbook.
The project is currently running in Inverness and recruits young volunteers between the ages of 16 and 25. It is funded by Young Start, which is part of the Big Lottery Fund.
