Acidria Scovia's story

My community used to see me as worthless because of my disability. They thought I wouldn’t be able to achieve anything.

But when I told Leonard Cheshire my dream of becoming a hairdresser, they believed in me. They provided me with six months of training and a start-up kit for my own business, and I’m proud to have opened my own hairdressing salon.

Now I’m inspiring many to look up to me and believe that they too can do something for themselves.
