Congratulations to everyone who took part in Parallel London on Sunday 4 September. We all had a fantastic day and it was great to see people of all abilities taking part in one mass participation event.
We will have places in Parallel London 2017 which will again be at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, home to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games so keep checking back here for updates.
This event is all about inclusion and is open to both children and adults who are disabled, impaired and even those who do not have a disability.
As an inclusive event, the event is about everyone taking part at the same time and not racing against a clock. Parallel believe it is important for everyone to cross the finish line in a spirit of togetherness.
There are four distances to choose from, and all disabled participants are eligible to take one carer for free around the course.
What our participants thought
Marvin regularly visits Randall Close, Battersea and has said Parallel gives disabled people the opportunity to have fun and enjoy themselves. He thought the atmosphere was electric and there was a feeling of togetherness.
Nick and Adam from Gloucestershire House have told us it was lovely to be part of a fully inclusive event, to see so many people, especially children with a variety of disabilities.
They thought it was lots of fun and very exciting.
- Only £150 per person, we have a fundraising guide and are always on hand if you need tips or ideas.
- With own place participants there is no fundraising target but any sponsorship you do raise is vital in helping disabled people live the lives they choose both in the UK and overseas.
