Registering to vote

To have your say at election time, you need to be registered to vote.

The way that people register to vote has recently changed. The head of a household used to be responsible for registering everyone who lives at their address.

But now, people registering to vote in England, Scotland and Wales have to register as individuals instead.

You can register to vote on the official government website.

If you want to find out if you are already registered to vote, you can contact your local electoral registration office.

The Your Vote Matters website can provide this information as well as other helpful resources.
