Activities Befriender Volunteer (#013)

Normally only around two hours per befriending visit on days and times discussed and agreed to suit all parties.

We're looking for a volunteer to support a young woman who has learning difficulties to go out and about in the local community. The resident likes to visit outdoor centres, wildlife venues, cafes, shops and also enjoys amateur photography.

Go-Digital Volunteers (#004)

Time commitment:

Time and dates of tutor visits will be entirely flexible and agreed beforehand between the Go-Digital volunteer and the resident, i.e. a two hour session once a week might best suit both parties, or more if desired.

 

This is an exciting new opportunity for volunteers with a good working knowledge of standard IT programmes / Apps / Social Media to tutor people with disability to learn the basics of computers / tablets / smartphones.

Group Activities Volunteer (#017)

Stranraer
Time commitment:

Days and times of volunteering visits are discussed and agreed with the volunteer to suit all parties. This role will be best managed with early evening visits, i.e. 6pm for an hour or two.

This is a very rewarding role for the right person who would like to support four disabled men to enjoy indoor pass-times, activities, games and other hobbies within the comfort of their shared, supported living house in Stranraer.

Leonard Cheshire Speaker (#002)

Time commitment:

Will vary from month to month dependent on requests from groups in your area. However we would like you to commit at least 2 hours per month for a minimum of 6-9 months.

Hair, nails and makeup volunteers (#010)

Time commitment:

Volunteering sessions are discussed and agreed with all concerned beforehand so that everyone is happy with their time commitment and availability. We envisage this role to be a two hour visit around once a fortnight  - but its very open to discussion.

A wonderful and engaging opportunity for a volunteer with amateur or even professional skills and experience in make-up and hair styling to support a young disabled lady to enjoy pamper sessions in her supported living house in Dumfries.

Disability Equality Speaker (#002)

Fundraising Admin Volunteer (#001)

Generally, 2-3 hours a week at most when street collections are ongoing in the Spring and Summer months. Collection cans in shops are administered routinely throughout the year. All money raised is counted and accounted for in our service Administration Office. Time commitment is discussed and agreed beforehand to ensure that everyone is happy.

An extremely worthwhile role for the right person who would like to offer their skills and time in planning and overseeing local charitable collections conducted by a small team of volunteer fundraisers.

We're looking for a male volunteer to visit a disabled man for chats, read books and play board games (dominoes, chess) in our supported living service in the early afternoon or evenings.

We are offering a fantastic opportunity to lead a community allotment project in Trafford, Manchester. You would be responsible for planning and supervising allotment use with Leonard Cheshire residents, volunteers and other community groups.
