Speaker Marketing Intern

Leonard Cheshire is offering a fantastic opportunity to support the speaker network coordinator in promoting disability equality and Leonard Cheshire to businesses, community groups and schools.

Befriender
Suggested commitment is 2 hours weekly, however, volunteers are able to give their time flexibly depending on the volunteering opportunity, but a regular commitment is appreciated.
To provide additional support to people who use our services on a 1-1 or group basis, independently or with other staff/volunteers dependent on activity.

Lead Volunteer

We are looking for a Volunteer who is happy to work with residents, service staff, the local community and lead our group of dedicated volunteers.

Outdoor Befriender
The Omagh sow & grow project runs from March—October from 10am—2pm.
Suggested commitment is 10am—2pm weekly/fortnightly/monthly.
Volunteers are able to give their time flexibly, but a regular commitment is appreciated.
We are looking for volunteers to provide additional support to people who use our Omagh Sow & Grow project on Mondays at 10am—2pm.

Activities Befriender Volunteer (#006)
The days and times of all volunteering is discussed and agreed with the volunteer, client and staff beforehand to suit all parties. Typically, this role would be one afternoon visit of around 1-2 hours per week, but more or less time can be arranged.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to engage with a young woman to support her in her favourite pass-times or to go out into the local community for short walks, meet people, have snacks and go shopping.

Volunteer Drivers (#007)
Driver roles are open to discussion on application depending on volunteer location and local disability needs and arrangements pending at the time. Normally, pre-arranged dates, times and journeys will be set and agreed to suit volunteer availability.
We seek experienced car drivers to support Leonard Cheshire residents and also disabled people in the wider D&G community to attend appointments, pre-planned activities, shopping trips and other ad hoc journeys required.

Outdoors Support Volunteer (#012)
Days of the week and times are flexible and will be discussed in detail and agreed beforehand to ensure that arrangements suit all parties involved.
Our usual volunteering is only a commitment of around one visit of 2 hours a week - or more if desirable.
Love being outdoors? We're looking for a volunteer to befriend a resident in our supported living service in Stranraer to go out for walks in the town centre, have a snack, meet locals and perhaps attend football matches.

Music Volunteers (#005)
Early evenings will be preferred but actual times, dates and venues will be discussed in detail to suit the volunteer musician and the service to ensure that all parties are comfortable with the arrangement.
We're looking for spirited amateur or professional musicians/singers to volunteer to come along to our homes in Stranraer and entertain our residents once a month or so in the early evening. It's all about fun and enjoyment!

Gardening Volunteer (#003)
Times and days will all be discussed in detail with the volunteer to ensure a mutually agreeable arrangement which works for the volunteer, the residents and the tasks required. A commitment of no more than 2-3 hours per week would suffice.
We seek volunteer gardeners who would like to use his or her gardening experience and abilities to support the charity and its residents with light gardening maintenance in our supported living houses.
