Role description

The role will normally involve driving the volunteer's own vehicle (following suitability checks) or the disabled person's own vehicle to support them to and from locations in the local community. Journeys further afield, if required, can be discussed and arranged .

No personal care tasks are included. Wheelchair training will be given where required.

Leonard Cheshire staff will conduct checks on driving ability and vehicle suitability.

Opportunity highlights

This is a truly rewarding role for a volunteer who enjoys driving as it enables people with disability to enjoy much more inclusion in their community, attend locations, events and activities not otherwise possible.
