Virtual Volunteer Session Lead

Summary

We are currently looking for a a lead volunteer to help with the running and implementation of our virtual volunteering sessions.

Time commitment

  • 1h 30 minutes for 1 to 2 sessions a week.

    For each virtual session the expected time commitment is as follow:

  • Log in about 10 minutes before the session to make sure that the zoom meetings are set up
  • Attend the whole 1hour session
  • Stay logged in for about 10 more minutes with the assistant volunteer and the facilitator to gather thoughts and comments on the session
  • Send emails to the appropriate people asking for any needed additional detail from participants to fill in the register
  • Send the completed register to the admin team

Role description

Purpose of the Role:

  • To support the CVC for the implementation of virtual sessions
  • To lead other volunteers during the virtual session
  • To facilitate the communication between CVC, participants, admin volunteers, staff and volunteers involved in the session

Key Activities :

  • To receive from the admin volunteers the register with the session participants
  • To make sure that at each session there are at least 3 members of staff/volunteers
  • To check participants against the list and let them in the session
  • To meet and greet volunteers on sessions
  • To support inductions
  • To arrange volunteering meetings
  • Support admin
  • Check chat box, mute/unmute participants
  • Facilitate a smooth running of the session
  • Send the register with attendance back to the admin volunteers
  • At the end of the session, lead a brief feedback conversation with the delivery partner and the volunteers, sending any note, comments, points for improvement to the CVC and the volunteering projects officer
