Outdoors Support Volunteer (#012)
Summary
Love being outdoors? We're looking for a volunteer to befriend a resident in our supported living service in Stranraer to go out for walks in the town centre, have a snack, meet locals and perhaps attend football matches.

Time commitment
Days of the week and times are flexible and will be discussed in detail and agreed beforehand to ensure that arrangements suit all parties involved.
Our usual volunteering is only a commitment of around one visit of 2 hours a week - or more if desirable.

Role description
Leonard Cheshire's Supported Living Service is about enabling the people that we support to participate in their community and our team of volunteers go a long way to supporting this. This role is an excellent opportunity to befriend a resident, support them to go out on short trips to visitor centres, shopping, cafes etc or just spend time in the community. Details of activities to suit the volunteer and resident will be discussed and agreed beforehand.
No previous experience is necessary and straight forward training is given and can be completed at home in your own time.
2 x references and a PVG Certificate are required and all necessary travel expenses are paid.
No manual handling or personal care tasks are involved in this role.
