Music Volunteers (#005)
We're looking for spirited amateur or professional musicians/singers to volunteer to come along to our homes in Stranraer and entertain our residents once a month or so in the early evening. It's all about fun and enjoyment!
Early evenings will be preferred but actual times, dates and venues will be discussed in detail to suit the volunteer musician and the service to ensure that all parties are comfortable with the arrangement.
Leonard Cheshire's supported living service has two houses in Stranraer. These are bungalows each home to four disabled people supported by staff to live as independently as possible.
The residents would love to enjoy singing along, trying musical instruments and just have some fun.
The volunteer musician would be asked to bring their respective talent and instruments for an hour or more sessions on dates to be planned and agreed in advance. All necessary travel expenses would be paid.
There is no doubt that live music is a huge plus in all our lives and perhaps more so for those who cannot, for many reasons, easily access this pleasure.
This role presents an opportunity for an amateur or professional musician in Stranraer area to make a real difference to the lives of disabled people in the region by performing to them and enjoying the rewards of making a real difference.
