Go-Digital Volunteers (#004)
This is an exciting new opportunity for volunteers with a good working knowledge of standard IT programmes / Apps / Social Media to tutor people with disability to learn the basics of computers / tablets / smartphones.
Time and dates of tutor visits will be entirely flexible and agreed beforehand between the Go-Digital volunteer and the resident, i.e. a two hour session once a week might best suit both parties, or more if desired.
This is an exciting new role within the charity.
We seek volunteers from the local community who have a good working knowledge of computers, smartphones, tablets and similar technology who would enjoy sharing their skills by tutoring people with disabilities to use basic IT.
No formal qualifications are necessary and 'learning' will be at the pace of the resident, with outcomes set to meet their own targets.
Volunteers will complete our Induction training, require 2 x references and a PVG (paid for by the charity)
People with a learning and/or physical disability can easily be excluded when not on-line or able to play games or use simple word processing.
Whatsoever level of competency the may achieve on IT, support will bring outcomes and rewards for them and satisfaction for the volunteer tutor.
