Activities Befriender Volunteer (#006)
Summary
This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to engage with a young woman to support her in her favourite pass-times or to go out into the local community for short walks, meet people, have snacks and go shopping.
Location
Time commitment
The days and times of all volunteering is discussed and agreed with the volunteer, client and staff beforehand to suit all parties. Typically, this role would be one afternoon visit of around 1-2 hours per week, but more or less time can be arranged.

Role description
The volunteer will attend at the supported living accommodation and engage with the client either in pass-times or, weather dependent, go out into the local community to meet people, have a snack or do some shopping. No personal care tasks are involved.
Opportunity highlights
The volunteer will gain as much fun, reward and personal satisfaction from the role as will the client. Skills, experience and free training given will also enhance a CV.
Full and ongoing support and development is always available from on duty staff and the Community Volunteer Co-ordinator.
Travel and other necessary expenses are paid.
