Nearby is the historic market town of Ashby de la Zouch. Our home is very close to local shops, pubs and a post office.

Newlands is in Derbyshire and close to the neighbouring counties of Leicestershire and Staffordshire.
Residents and their families and friends can reach Newlands House in several ways. For those coming by public transport, there are regular bus services nearby. We’re not far from to Burton-on-Trent railway station: from here, you can catch the Cross Country train into Derbyshire and other surrounding areas.
If you're coming by car, road links are also straightforward. We are close to the A38, A444 and M42.
Who we support
At Newlands House our team provides high-quality, personalised support for every individual. We take time to understand the key things that matter to each resident.
We know that someone’s condition is just one part of their lives, affecting people in different ways. In case it is useful for prospective residents to know, we can offer support to people with a wide range of conditions including:
learning disabilities, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries (ABI), cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, stroke recovery and rehabilitation.
What support we provide
Every resident has a person-centred care plan that sets out how they like to be supported. Our team assists residents with all aspects of daily living. This includes:
Personal care: Full support with all personal care, hygiene and grooming tasks. We also try to provide skills for our residents to be independent.
Nursing care: Our expert nurses can support people with a variety of complex health needs. They also oversee medication management.
Meeting dietary requirements: We have a range of freshly prepared food, and we can meet a variety of dietary requirements. Where required, we can assist people with eating. We can also support with enteral feeding.
Mobility assistance: Help with getting around as required. Help with transfers, including hoist transfers.
Physiotherapy: We provide access to high-quality physiotherapy, tailored to individual needs. We employ two staff in our physiotherapy team.
Activity support: We help residents with activities they love to do. This can happen both in service and in the community, as detailed below.

All activities are based on people’s personal preferences. Whenever possible, we help people to get out about in the local community –whether that’s exploring local villages, towns, parks and other places people might want to go.We also provide group activities.
